List of dragonflies from the whole world.
Dragonflies (Odonata), as many other insects, get from the egg. Then the nymph lives in the water for 3 years (max 4). In that time a nymph fades 11to 12 times, and if no one will eat it, little wings grow on it's back. Then a nymph gets out of water by climbing plants. Then nymph turns into the dragonfly (full process of evaluation you can see here). A dragonfly lives from a few weeks (damselflies) to a few months (aeschna). In that time dragonflies eat, lay eggs, and enjoy their lives. Then the process begins again.
Dragonflies appeared 300 million years ago.
The earliest dragonflies lived with dinosaurs, one of the biggest ones was Meganeura (3 feet long).
Right now there are about 6500 species of dragonflies.
Mazimum speed of a dragonfly is 96 km/h.
